There is not many people who haven't had the pleasure of attending coffee clutch sessions, as we call them, around Joanna's table. I don't know when you couldn't stop by her house during the day & be welcomed with a fresh cup of coffee. I'll never forget the 5-5:30 am calls and a voice saying, "Put the coffee on lady". We were like our own psychologists, hashing out our lives. LOL! And 3:00pm again " Hey lady put the coffee on" we had to discuss our day. We would shew the kids back to play so we could get in a little gossip too. Funny how after the kids grew up they could finally join our coffee clutch sessions & the mystery of what went on. LOL! Jo did not like coffee mugs, she loved pretty little tea cups. So you will find in my cabinet among all the mugs, a pretty little tea cup. Her special cup I kept for her only. We have been friends for over 30 years & she has been like a second mother to my 5 kids. During a rough patch in our lives, out of the blue she would show up with 2 gallons of milk & food items. And expect nothing in return. She had such a love for children and animals. And she loved cooking & entertaining friends & family. And cook she could! Her meatballs were marketable as well as her sauce & lasagna. All we would have to say to my son was "Joanna made lasagna" He was there in a flash. There has been so many wonderful times throughout the 30 plus years of our friendship, the farm memories, and many happy times & sad times I could fill volumes. She will be deeply missed. And I hold up my coffee in salute, honor & memory of my beloved friend, "This cup is for you lady."
