Home-Going of a Hero...

April 1, 2016

Daddy, Chief Elder Job Nkemakolam Ugbaja (OFG), was born in Umumgbokwo Isingwu, Umuahia, Abia State, to late Chief Daniel and Jenny Ugbaja Nwachukwu. He passed away on March 26th, 2016, after a brief illness at the age of 89. Daddy, you have touched our lives in different great ways and we will remember you forever...

Daddy, fondly called Elder J.N., lived his life in full, he enjoyed his life, wife, children, and grand children and was surrounded by them as he passed unto glory with songs of praises and shouts of "ALLELUIA!"

Elder J.N. was a man of the community, who was involved in the affairs of his people. He was a strong, intelligent, dedicated, meticulous, and out-going man. He loved everyone around him and would fight for peace and justice.

He worked and retired as an Accountant, he was active his entire life having no dull moments! He was a Sportsman (played Football - when he was younger), a Football Team Manager to the El-Kanemi Football Club of Maiduguri, a Lawyer, an Educator, a Philanthropist, a Secretary, and an Administrator. Daddy loved to read and write and would not go by any day without reading and writing something. It was almost an abomination to see daddy anywhere without a pen and paper.

He loved and served the Lord in different areas and departments of the Church. He was ordained an Elder and an OFG (Order of Faithful of God) under the Methodist Church of Nigeria. Elder J.N. was a man that stood for truth, integrity, and justice and was always ready to fight injustice. He was highly respected by the entire community and was a leader in the Eze-in-Council.

Daddy was a very happy man, free spirited, and easy to make friends with. We love you daddy, but God loves you more... Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord, till we meet to part no more!!
