Joe Bob was with me the day I thought I was going to have to send my Doberman, Skye across the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Hess showed us some sobering X-rays of her leg which, he believed, at the time showed the beginnings of large bone sarcoma. He sent me home with pain medication for her and our hearts were broken. The diagnosis was wrong (all relieved), but Joe Bob checked on me every day for a month being sure I was doing okay. Yes, he could make us laugh, but his kindness was overwhelming. You were there for me when no one else was present. Your laughter and presence are much missed. I hope Skye is running on the beaches with you, Blue, and Red. Much love

Unbelievable- I did not know this page existed until I googled my uncle's name- Joe Bob Stotts. What a loving tribute to his memory. His family misses him dearly- brothers Mike and Dennis, sisters Anne and Jan. Several niece and nephews as well. Just found out about all of us losing Joe Bob. We dated for two and a half years in high school and continued to keep in touch until he went to the virgin Islands. I got back to Texas and was looking him up. So sad. I have always loved the man. My heart is totally broken. There will never be another like him. Rest in peace sweet man. I will always remember our high school dates.

I wish I could pick a story to leave. Our story is one big movie. The friendship, love and respect we all had for one another. That alone is an amazing story. As Father Render said, you don't find that at our age, but after reading the posts, JB had the ability to do just that. He loved life and his friends. (not so much his family).He treated them with respect and left them smiling.
I only wish I had written everything down as it happened. He gave us the best years of our life in the later years. We went through the loss of friends, family a major life changing move together. We saw money come and go, We out lasted a huricane and a night time ocean boat wreck, Having to be rescued. Of course he kept his cool, smoked a cigerette and drank a beer while keeping the rest of us calm. He fought the bad guys for us and won.
There was no laughter when I found him. There hasn't been much laughter since. OUr hears will never be the same. You see, Joe Bob came into our life right after losing my brother. I really thought Tom sent him to us, they were way to much alike. Then God called him home. I guess Tom needed a friend up there that had shared out life here. So everyone would be on the same page.
