Missing my favorite guy! Happy b-day sweetie.  Will ALWAYS miss you!

You make us smile

August 13, 2012

Just remembering Joe Bob's infectious smile and how much he made us all laugh.  You gave us the best medicine in life, laughter!  Thank you for all the good times and happy moments.  You will never be forgotten.  I know you are making the Angels laugh in heaven.

a movie

March 31, 2012

I wish I could pick a story to leave. Our story is one big movie. The friendship, love and respect we all had for one another. That alone is an amazing story. As Father Render said, you don't find that at our age, but after reading the posts, JB had the ability to do just that. He loved life and his friends. (not so much his family). He treated them with respect and left them smiling.

I only wish I had written everything down as it happened. He gave us the best years of our life in the later years. We went through the loss of friends, family a major life changing move together. We saw money come and go, We out lasted a huricane and a night time ocean boat wreck, Having to be rescued. Of course he kept his cool, smoked a cigerette and drank a beer while keeping the rest of us calm. He fought the bad guys for us and won.

There was no laughter when I found him. There hasn't been much laughter since. OUr hears will never be the same. You see, Joe Bob came into our life right after losing my brother. I really thought Tom sent him to us, they were way to much alike. Then God called him home. I guess Tom needed a friend up there that had shared out life here. So everyone would be on the same page.

Thanks for the memories my friend.

Joe Bob - What a character, what a friend!

November 21, 2010

We have so many memories of Joe Bob, especially when he was telling stories!

Probably the best was when he called me day after St Pattys Day, changing his voice and asking for Jose. Of course he had to ask him where his Patrone was??

I made garlic and brie today and remembered Joe Bob practically licking the plate sitting on our gallery. We called him in for dinner but he was so addicted, he had to finish every last drop. Jeanne asked him if he liked it and of course he answered, "Ya reckon?"

One night Joe Bob, Sophie and myself were having dinner @ Angry Nate's.  When the bill came, Soph and I each took out our $ to pay our share and JB told us not to insult him that he was buying dinner.  "After all, I just look like I don't have any money!"

My most embarrassing memory was sitting with Joe Bob not too long after he met Ulf & Elsa.  He asked them if they wanted to hear a funny joke. Of course they did and of course he did. Yup, the duck joke. Ulf didn't get it at first, so he didn't laugh but Elsa laughed to be polite; I wanted to hide under the table...

Most recently, we sent him a funny gag gift most appropriate only for Joe Bob. Unfortunately, it arrived late but since I made the mistake of telling him we sent a stupid silly 60th gift, he called me just about everyday to tell me it hadn't arrived. When it did, he called to say thanks and let us know he loved it and was going to find something to strap it to (Jeanne told me it is attached to the leg of the dining room table)!   Anyway, that was my last conversation with JB but I bet we talked for over an hour. He told me how much he truly loved his new digs and being with Rich & Jeanne in Las Vegas. He made us promise to come visit and reminded me that we really were the same age??
