In 1953, Joe Haro and I became neighbors and school mates until 1957 when he graduated from high school and continued onto Indiana State University.  A year later I graduated from the same high school and went to Ball State University.  We lost track of each other and sometime around May of 1972, I was sitting at my desk in the Philadelphia Office of the FBI when my phone rang and someone said he was a reporter for the Gary Post Tribune and wanted my opinion, as a Special Agent, on the death of J. Edgar Hoover.  The reporter's questions became more and more uncomfortable and I finally asked his name and, of course, it was Joe.  We laughed and asked about each other and found that our mother's were still in Gary, Indiana and had recently learned that Joe was living in Haddonfield, NJ and I in Cherry Hill, NJ.  We renewed our friendship and Joe became like an uncle to my three children   He would rile them up by dancing, screaming and carrying on and afterwards leave so we could settle them down.  Joe and I did some traveling together to Ireland and the Bahamas and a few months ago, my daughter and I had lunch with Joe and that is the last time I saw him.  I will miss Joe and hold on to very fond memories I have for my long, long time friend of 67 years.  Bob Bazin
