Happy Fathers Day Dad
A moment of silence....
I took a walk in the meadow today with a heavy heart. I stopped under a tree to sit and count all the things in my life for which I am grateful. I started on one hand with Aunt Linda's love, Uncle Norm's wisdom, Bill's companionship, Mom's quick wit, Scott's compassion, Cris's humor and on and on. By the third or fourth time around my fingers and toes, counting my blessings and losing my woes, my loving labrador broke my train of thought licking the tears from my face. Nothing says "i love you" more than a labrador kiss:)
I skipped home with a lighter heart, a heart full of love and gratitude.
Thank you daddy.
To all for whom I am grateful,
Love you,
Kelly
Missing you....
Dear Dad,
I'll never forget the anticipation I had each evening waiting for you to come home from work. We had such fun, you always came home smiling and happy. I love you and miss you, and would give anything to see you walk through the door once again....
There was a special dance
For dad and miss ruffle pants
More of a ritual,
Sort of Spiritual...
with chants.
Everyday just before five
She'd pace the floor
Waiting to see his face
Walk through the door.
And then it began
This dance of pure joy
For eight hours had passed
Since they had played with a toy.
With elbows bent tight
And hands flappin' like birds
They circled each other
jumping around like two nerds
Her eyes big and wide
His smile beaming
Almost at once
They’d burst into singing
Daddy’s home!
Daddy’s home!
Daddy’s home!
