A niece of mine was broken down a fair piece out of town. She was the victim of a failed alternator. I called Joe with the hopes of borrowing his trailer. He would not let me borrow the trailer, he picked me up and we went out together. That was typical of Joe. There were lots of things that were typical of Joe - that great smile, his slightly off center sense of humor and his strong sense of fair play. If you were ever in a jam, you would definitely want Joe on your side. I am going to missed calling him and being subjected to his special brand of abuse.
