It really hurts deeply when you lose a dear friend you have known for such
a long time. When i reflect on our friendship over the years i will always
remember that Joel was a kind, fun loving brother, who as so many others
have said, he was a friend for life. Over the years we still kept in touch with
one another even sharing a meal recently with another long spiritual brother.

In tribute to Joel I seen the whole hearted love Joel had for his wife Sherry, and I also seen him as a gental giant who was very much in love and protective of his wife. Then the laughs, love and stories started to flood the room how Butch always pumped your gas and how he rescued your sister early in the morning when her car stopped. I began to realize he was the protector of his family and your sisters. I remember another time when Butch said the prayer for a meal we were about to share with a sister who had lost her husband. He asked Jehovah to massage her heart in these trying times. That was over 10 yrs ago I never forgot that expression. I was so moved by it and all the times Butch and Charles guided, counseled, cared for my family and me. So I ask consistently Jehovah massage you and your families hearts. Words cannot nearly describe how much Garrison aka Butch will be missed! He was such a giving brother, a fine shepherd, one of which displayed tender care for his flock. He was there for you no matter what! Some of the best service days on Sundays , included hearing the laughs and jokes between Garrison and Sherry. His intense love for you Sherry was evident and he will always be a great example for how brothers should care for their wives. I've probably known Brother Garrison as long as I've been alive. Always kind, always helpful, always noticing, always working. Last thing he helped me with was getting an estimate for my car that got rear-ended. Last time I saw him was probably at a meeting, acknowledging everyone that walked by. He always seemed very attentive to people. I'm sure he has, but I've never heard him raise his voice, ha. He was so calm, mellow, and patient. Going door to door with him was nice, even though I wasn't necessarily very talkative. But he didn't mind the quietness, and he wasn't the kind to talk your ear off. When I did talk though, he listened. I can tell Joel was a wonderful husband, and a great dad... we'll see him soon.

My heart is full and I can’t find the words to express how much Butch meant to me. He was truly a loving shepherd and genuinely cared about us the sheep. Just seeing his smiling face greeting me at the hall, made me smile and feel secure. I loved his laugh. He had a way that drew u to him. The 4 of us spent many joyous times together and I look forward to spending good times again together in a perfect world, with perfect bodies....forever. I miss u wilma

Bro. and Sis. Garrison were among the first ones I worked with in the ministry after moving to the Coolidge territory. We were working with the Circuit Overseer and his wife that day, and I will never forget it not because It was snowing, and cold that day and we managed to finish the territory but because the Garrison’s offered me a ride back to the Kingdom Hall with them. And then there was another time when Bro Garrison and Bro Chatman did a shepherding call on me and my brother. When I saw those two big and tall brothers walking together up my driveway I though to myself this cannot be good for me. Was I ever wrong because once they came inside and started talking I felt and heard his genuine love and concern for me and my brother. He will truly be missed; until I see him again when ‘... death ...nor pain be anymore...’

Butch was a very good guy you couldn’t find a better person to be your friend and I was lucky enough to have him as my brother-in-law. He was really like a brother to me and I really miss my brother. Sherry, Neal and Nick be patient and be strong you will meet Butch again in the near future and guess what he will be 100% healthy In the new order.

Joel always showed his self sacrificing love. He continuously did for others without reservation. My family could count on Joel during our times of need, whether spiritual or otherwise. Brother Garrison was a true shepherd, brother and friend. He was approachable, always willing to help and if he couldn't help he would give you a name and number of someone who could. He has helped Nyles and I on several occasions. I believe he was a good husband and father as well, I recall seeing him interacting with Sherry at the meetings, in the ministry or anywhere, they were always happy and playful with each other. Looking so forward to seeing him again when ALL IS NEW! Love you Sherry and family!

So hard a time this is. I met this brother around 8 years ago and was always greeted with a smile from him. So encouraging is the thought that if I seen him 10 times in a year, 9 were not at meetings, but putting forth effort to do whatever was needed by either of our Kingdom Halls. Snow storm, rainstorm, or sunshine this brother made himself available. I will miss his love for Jehovah’s house but I will remember Jehovah’s promise every time I think of him. May Jehovah bless his family not only to cope now but to be on hand shortly after our dear brothers hears the voice of our King.

Joel was my spiritual brother, fellow elder, and friend! He was the type of person who proved his love for those around him. He would do anything for anyone in need, so Jehovah cared for him the same way. He dearly loved Sherry, and it was evident in everything he said and did.
