While Henry and Johanna (Janesovky) Dierks were homesteading with their three young children near Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Johanna gave birth to their fourth child, Mary (my mom), on November tenth, 1919. Very soon after that, apparently, two of the other three children were hospitalized with typhoid fever. Johanna cared for them in the hospital; the children recovered, but Johanna contracted typhoid fever herself and died on the eleventh of December, 1919.
Tributes are short messages commemorating Johanna, or an expression of support to her closest family and friends. Leave your first tribute here, and others will follow.
