John David Stalls, Sr., 75, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Duke Medical Center.

He was born September 21, 1943 in Pitt County to the late Daniel David Stalls and Bertha Scott Stalls.  He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Carolina Telephone Company.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 5:00 – 6:45 PM.  Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Martin Memorial Gardens in Williamston, NC.

Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Stalls of the home; his children, John Stalls, Jr. of Tarboro, Donna Stafford Rollins of the home, Teresa M. Stafford of Vance County, Danny Manning of Martin County, Sherry Stancil of Pitt County; three sisters, Earsie Boone of Maryland, Christine Whitehead of Emporia, Virginia, Linda B. Robbins of South Carolina and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ray Charles Stafford; five brothers, Bruton, Coy, Dewey, Earl and Milton Stalls and two sisters, Hazel Alvez-Reid and Marie Hefferman.
