While on vacation Eric and I have been telling the kids stories and many of mine involve the wonderful times I had as a child and teenager on the farm with you and grandma. I wish everyone was so fortunate as to have the great upbringing I had and fabulous experiences in Stratton.

It's been 5 long years since we said goodbye for now to dad. He was the sweetest, most compassionate, intelligent father. I was so blessed to call him dad. His family and farm were all important to him. I miss you so much, dad. See you in heaven someday. Love you always.

We spent the last few days on the farm with my wonderful grandma. All of the things we did with her, my mom and kids reminded me of all the great times I had there as a kid and all the the fun things Grandpa did with us.

It is hard to write this because putting it in words makes it all the more real that you are not physically here on earth with us. I miss you so very much each day. But I do know that you have complete happiness because you are with our wonderful Jesus. I feel your spirit with me each day but my heart misses you so much. Some day we will all be together again. Until then, watch over us and be there to help us like you always have with your strength and love. I love you, daddy!

I miss my dad so much. He was the best friend and dad I could have. This is a hard day remembering 3 years ago when you went to heaven, dad. You are in my thoughts and I look forward to seeing you in heaven and we can catch up on old times. Love you eternally.

P.S. Thank you for falling in love with the lady in the little red delivery truck. How blessed we are to have you and mom as our parents. What a life you have given us!

Happy birthday to you, my sweet, gentle dad. I miss you so much and would like for you to be here with me. But I know that is selfish since you are in God's perfect heaven and couldn't ask for a better place for you to be. I remember feeding cattle with you, riding in your old pickup when I was a little girl and you teaching me to drive. I remember your patience with me when I was driving the tractor and making mistakes, running over corn. What a man of God you were and you taught by your example. I thank God for the mother and father He placed me with. I am truly blessed to have call you...Dad. Love you forever.
Your oldest daughter, Michele.

Looking at that pic of you and Mom brings a lump in my throat. How we miss you Dad. White v-neck t shirts and pajama bottoms looking out to see how much it rained. It is big. We need you and hope you can help us live best we can till we see you again. Any helpful hints from you and the Holy Spirit would be great. June 9th will always be remembered as special cause of you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY

John- never saw you but one time on a short notice- but had the best time with the best welcome early in the morning, such good hospitality and love in such a short time. Sorry I didn't have more time to vsit longer but your wife and daughters have been very helpful in the love you instilled in their lives. Know they miss you much.

2 years without my sweet dad. I know he is rejoicing at being in heaven with God but I miss him so much He was such a wonderful dad and I enjoyed every minute I spent with him. Dad loved showing me around the farm & pointing out his newest cattle or other items on the farm. I know I have my love of nature from him. Love you eternally, Dad. ❤

You were the best grandpa that anyone could ask for. I sure miss coming to the farm and seeing your fantastic smile and a warm hug or pat on the back. You always wanted to know what we were up to and cared so much about all of your loved ones.

Happy Father's Day to you my sweet father. I miss you and know that I was so blessed to have such a wonderful father. Your farm is not the same without you but mom is doing a great job carrying on without you. I know you taught her a lot in your partnership with her. You are forever loved and I will see you in heaven. Love from your oldest daughter.

Daddy, I miss you so much. I know that you are with God and with me each day in my heart--I can feel you. You gave me so much love. I am blessed to have had you as my father. Even though we miss you so much and we miss you physically, you give us the strength to go on and continue as you would. Rise and shine, as you always said. God, take care of daddy.

What a long year this has been, Dad. We have missed you so much. Mom has been very brave but is so lonely for your wonderful smile and companionship. I am selfish and would like for you to be back with us but heaven is a much better place. I so much look forward to seeing you again someday when we can all praise and worship God in person. Love you eternally.

My dear John it has been a long sad lonely year without you. How I miss you . I so often feel your presence around me and then realize you are resting at peace. You are with me in my thoughts the minute I get up in the morning till I go to bed and then often in my dreams. This is your birthday, Dad. I am missing you so much but I do remember all the fun birthdays we had. I loved your hearty laugh and your zest for living. You taught me so much about how to be a good daughter by your Christian example and tender, patient love. You loved children so much and enjoyed seeing them and talking to them. Your family misses you so much! Love you eternally.

Dad, Dan and I were working on the feedlot recently and I was reminded of the hard work you put in on the farm for many years. You were always so happy to show us around the farm and point out improvements. I miss you but look forward to seeing you in heaven. Love always.

Daddy, we are in Kingman. Walking around our yard I remember how hard you and mom worked one summer day helping to plant our blackberries. They are still living and you said I was crazy to plant such thorny vines. I love you and thank you for being with us in sprit each day.

Daddy-Looking through the pictures on this tribute has made me so sad it's hard to even express how much I miss you. I haven't poured out tears for you cuz of the strength you've given me but I have a huge emptiness in my heart. Love you forever!

Daddy - I loved making sugar cookies for you every x-mas. I was never good at buying you shirts, gloves, or jackets, but I knew you'd hide some of the sugar cookies till everyone left after x-mas!!

What an amazing man my grandpa was.  He will leave me with so many life lessons. Hard work has its rewards, cleanliness and tidiness, love of family, respect for others, never stop learning by asking questions.

I'll never forgot being included in the farm tours and hearing the pride in his voice as he showed me a new corral, feedlot, tractor, herd of cattle, or piece of land. Of course I was always quick to take a piece of Spearmint gum from the glovebox b

I have so many wonderful memories of Grandpa, many of them involving ice cream and desserts. I loved seeing Grandpa drive up the street on a hot summer afternoon because I knew that we were heading for ice cream sundaes at Dairy King.

Grandpa was a great man and I will miss him always. I remember one time I was going for a drive with him in his truck and the song "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" came on the radio and we both knew the words and we smiled and sang together.

Grandpa loved to see Carson and when he saw him his face would light up with a great big smile. Grandpa had so much love for his family and of course his one true love Grandma. We will always have nothing but fond memories of our dear sweet Grandpa.

Long days in McCook with Mom and Dad were common all through the years. We had a long day today, without Dad, but truly felt him walking beside me with his old quick step...eager to get the job done.

Dad really enjoyed the great outdoors! I remember many times when we saw something beautiful(sunsets, geese flying, corn crop, pastures)he would tell me how wonderful God was to create such beauty for us to enjoy. He gave praise to his Heavenly Father!

John was always up for a drive around the farm. Not one to sit around he would say "I need to go check on something". Then he'd be ready for Julia's homemade pies and kolaches.

I've been blessed to know some great men in my life. My Grandfather, my Father and an Uncle who was a true man.
Slow to anger, quick of wit and gentle of spirit.
Salt of the Earth...that's the man my Uncle was.
