John Dillard Williford, Jr., 77, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, June 4th, 2014 at Granville Medical Center.

He was the son of the late John “J.D.” Dillard Williford,Sr. and Eunice Wilson Williford. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus anda graduate of Guilford College. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, retired from Revlon, and owned the Orpheum Theater for several years.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church by Father William Long. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of fifty five years, Doris ScroggsWilliford, a son John Dillard Williford III, a daughter Lisa Williford Williams (Steve) both of Oxford, two grandsons, Justin and Ryan Williams, two brothers, Robert “Bob” Williford (Arlene)and Danny Williford (Judy) all of Oxford and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Williford.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Hospice,1242 Dabney Dr., Henderson, NC 27536.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM with a Recital of the Rosary at 8:30 PM At Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
