Though John was only at Annandale High School for one year, he graduated with us and forever will be part of our class.
I think I can speak on behalf of myself and our class in expressing our deepest sympathies for your loss of him.
Having read the comments here and the quote above, I would have to say he lived an extraordinary life.
All the best,

About "Johnny B. Good" from a long time friend and fellow realtor, Peter Trost. When I was still early on in the business, and I was starting my career at Moore and Company, John was there as "the super-agent" in the office. I had no idea how he had ended up with a major tie-in to the Homequity account at IBM, but I remember being very impressed. Over the years at Moore he was revealed to be a fun and funny guy, very down to earth, and absolutely in love with Lori (his wife) and their two girls. He was always to be counted on for some sly comments as we would joke about the trials and tribulations of practicing real estate in the Boulder market, and we grew to be buddies over the years. When Moore and Company was bought out, by a national firm, we each decided to go for a more local base of operations and wound up together at RE/MAX of Boulder with some of the others from Moore who felt the same way. He continued to be himself and a wealth of information and cameraderie, and over the last several years, began to back away from the everyday practice , and giving himself more to being at home with Lori and becoming ever more a student of the Word, and a teacher as well. John's good nature, dry sense of humor, and deep-rooted ability to connect with his friends and clients will long be remembered, and are already deeply missed. So long for now, John. I look forward to the reunion when we have all finished the race.

My brother John was a gentle, curious, funny soul. I remember multiple ski trips with him, winding up Berthoud Pass, white-knuckling down the other side to Winter Park, talking about whatever was striking our fancy at the moment. John introduced me to so much good music on those trips in the 1970s--Santana, Simon and Garfunkel, lots of Beatles, Carol King. Switching gears and memories here, I also remember standing in my kitchen as a 6-year-old, meeting this girl John liked a lot. She was tall, pretty, long hair and a funny beatnik cap. Lori, the love of John's life, had met the family! We were all so blessed.
Love you bro!

John and I worked together in real estate since the late 70s. Our first common interest was working together on the Homequity account that served IBM customers. We shared a common bond even though he was working at Moore and Company at the time. Eventually John made the move to RE/MAX of Boulder and we worked together for more years than care to think about have gone by. John was always a true professional in the real estate business along with a very friendly and pleasing personality. He will be greatly missed.

Over more than 40 years of friendship John was much more than an agent in helping us locate a suitable homes. At one time when I was reluctant to move he hung in there and he showed me more than 50 houses. What a commitment!
I had the pleasure of instructing John when he was obtaining his Private Pilot Certificate. He was eager to learn new things and enjoyed the freedom and escape that aviation provided. I really enjoyed the many times we traveled together, flew together and the conversations we had at dinners. Those are some of the things I’ll miss in addition to not having him again in the pilot seat.

We first met John 42 years ago, when he sold us our home in Boulder. We were moving from California and had only a brief time to hunt for a new home. John was young and eager to help. We were struck by his keen eye and honesty, pointing out flaws and potential pitfalls in houses. John told us that he would be away at the time of closing, but that someone else would handle it. As it turned out, he came back early from a backpacking trip to be there with us, and so began a lifelong friendship.
Not long after, John moved into a condo close to us and became a frequent visitor. He often ate dinner with us, no matter whether is was a simple casserole or leftovers. He was interested in our lives and our kids, and bought them great gifts for special occasions. His sense of humor and easy laughter were memorable.
John had longed for children of his own, often saying that he hoped that would be possible for him. He was so happy to fall in love with Lori, Shauna and Shamane!
As the years went by, we all were busy with work and family commitments and didn't stay in touch much.  When we did get together, is was like no time at all had passed. In the last twenty years, we have seen each other more often, and for that I've very grateful. I count Lori among my dearest friends and thank John for bring us together. We were fortunate to share the Milford Track in New Zealand with John and Lori, and there are many lovely memories from that time.
We laughed together so much! I will miss John greatly.

John Simons and I were both BSF Group Leaders in the fall 2017/spring 2018 timeframe. John was a man full of joy, full of life and full of God’s wisdom and grace. John’s participation in our Saturday AM BSF Leader’s Meeting was always a source of keen life insights and encouragement. John’s smile and warmth of personality were infectious and uplifting.
Beginning fall 2018, I enjoyed the fellowship of carpooling with John from Superior/Louisville to the Monday evening BSF Men’s Group meetings at Calvary Bible Church-Boulder Campus location. Both John and I had discontinued serving as Group Leaders in order to focus on other life priorities. John and I enjoyed catching up on life with deep meaningful discussions during the 25-minute ride each way. John often expressed how grateful to God he was to enjoy the eight (8) years of life beyond his original “you have 6 months to live” cancer prognosis. John was a man at peace with himself and in his relationship with Jesus Christ.
Beginning in December when John was unable to attend BSF or carpool, I would reach out to him on the phone to see if we could spend some time together. As John would describe his current deteriorating physical health, he still exhibited a joy and peace knowing he was safe in the arms of Jesus. I would joke with John that I was super-envious that he would be getting a “promotion” before me and I was very much jealous. Turns out John did get his “promotion” first!!
John’s life confirmed the truth that the apostle Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:6-8: That’s why we live with such good cheer. You won’t see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don’t get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us? When the time comes, we’ll be plenty ready to exchange exile for homecoming. (2 Corinthians 5:6-9 MSG)

I'll always remember John as a group leader with Bible Study Fellowship. John was usually the first one to arrive at our 6:30am Saturday BSF leaders meeting. His Monday classes were always full of participation. He had a real gift for connecting with people on a personal level. We praise God for John's fruitful life.
Blessings,
Bill Jancosko

One of the Good Guys

January 10, 2019

When my brother Chris and I were young, going to visit our Dad and work was the highlight of most weeks. The realtors at his office treated us like gold and John was at the top of the list. He always took a strong interest in everything that we did and was never too busy to talk with us.

I always loved hearing his stories about travel all over the world and following his pictures through the years via Facebook have been inspiring.

John will be missed by so many and I will always remember him fondly for being one of the good guys.

My deepest condolences go out to the famil

Who is bringing the donut's?

January 9, 2019

I knew John thru BSF as I was in the admin team and John was a leader. We met as a group every Saturday during the year and I was in charge of deciding who would bring the treats for each Saturday. After finding out that John had a daughter who owned a bakery in Boulder, I attempted to get John to volunteer to bring treats for more than the required number of times, to no avail.

When I think of John the word that comes to mind is "gentle". He had such a gentle way about him along with such a soft voice. I always looked forward to his responses to the Study questions. John had a special way of expressing himself and it was very obvious that he Loved the Lord and embraced studying His Word. This world needs so many more John's. He is the light that many Christians never become. He carried himself in a humble, compassionate way. I will sorely miss John and I know he is in a better place with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
