Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at W.E. Lusain Funeral Home and Crematory (2060 Germantown Street/Dayton, OH 45417). Visitation will begin at 11:00am and service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment at Shiloh Park Cemetery.

Born to the late John E Rogers Sr and Charlotte L Reeves Rogers on September 27, 1957, in Cleveland, OH.At age 65, John passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 13, 2023.He confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended Revival Center Ministries.

Mr. Rogers received his high school diploma from Meadowdale High School.Always a working man from his youth and was employed most of his life.His mantra “if a man don’t work, a man don’t eat’.Mr. Rogers worked as a custodian at Wright Patterson AFB (5 years), Sinclair Community College (20+ years) and Miami Valley Hospital (12 years).

Affectionately known as Toddy, Bubby, Uncle and Johnny R, Mr. Rogers always had a funny name for each person he knew.He was that comedian that never happened.He would make you laugh on most occasions.John was a truth teller if you were getting fat he would tell you, no hesitation.John was a simple and peaceful man, no bling, or fanfare just easy going with a gentle nature.Thus serving to remind us exactly how special he truly was.He will forever be missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his mother Charlotte L Reeves Rogers and his father John E Rogers Sr, and sister Tracy Rogers.He leaves to cherish his memory siblings, Nabagereka, Princess, Shari L, Verlana, William, Donnie (Julia), Kelly, Hassan (Sonya), Jonathan, Shaundallah, and Raheem Rogers and special niece Latasha Rogers-Cook (Ronell), special friend Betty Fountaine and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
