Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at Revival Center Ministries International (3011 Oakridge Drive/Dayton 45417). Visitation at 12:00pm and service to follow at 1:00pm. Interment at West Memory Gardens. Masks are encouraged.

Mr. John F. Coleman was survived by his dad Jessie Norris II (Doris Norris) and mother Mary Pope (William Pope) on April 17, 1964 in Dayton, Ohio. As a child, he attended McKinnley United Methodist Church. He confessed Christ in his adulthood by being baptized at Greater Grace Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. He became an active member of Revival Center Ministries Int.

John has eight children, Melissa Edwards, DeAron Long, La’Kesha Thaler, John Fitzgerald Coleman II, Darnell Thorpe, Diamond Coleman, Johntay Coleman, and D’Angelo Coleman-Boyd who preceded him in death. Along with 8 grandchildren, while expecting his first great grandson. John is the oldest of his three brothers who are Mark Coleman, Jesse Norris III, and Jonathan Norris.

Mr. Coleman was educated in the Dayton Public Schools system and received his high school diploma from Colonel White High School. He spent many of his years in Dayton, OH and later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where his last years were spent. Mr. Coleman was a business owner and entrepreneur. He was mostly known for his sports bar, drive thru, kids clothing store, and beauty salon. His entrepreneurship allowed him to be charitable to others, while contributing to his church home and church family. He had a love for animals, and even owned horses, snakes, monkeys, exotic birds, and even a tiger! Though he loved all animals, dogs had his heart, and he was an excellent trainer. His passion for animals has even been passed down to his children.

Leading was first nature for Mr. Coleman. He never shied away from a challenge. You could find him on the dancefloor or in a fast car. You’d be surprised at his above average drumming skills! He took great care of himself and always prided himself on wearing the best. He was known to crack a joke that left everyone laughing and smiling. He always made sure that he had a good time because he had a love for life. His love for life reminds us of how important each moment truly is. He will greatly be missed by his family and friends.

My Friend

Wow. My friend. I'm so sad to see you have gone. I will never forget you. Mrs. Mary you probably don't remember me but John and Terry and you knew my mom Marian and my brother Jody. John and I were always so close. No one ever believed that a girl and a guy could truly be just friends with love for each other. He called me his sister and he was my brother. I'll never forget high school and his decked out green Ford grenade I love you friend. You always had a crack and kept us all smiling.  When I left ohio at 18 every time I came home in looked you up. You were a blessing to all that knew and loved you. Thank you for always watching out for me Corleon.  Love you much my dear friend. Sissy
