His Life
June 24, 2016

Johnnie M. Fuerst, Jr. “Bubba”, 49, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away November 4, 2013 in Galveston, Texas. John was born June 2, 1964, to Johnnie and Doris Fuerst who preceded him in death.

John spent his entire life serving others; First and foremost his Lord and Savior becoming an ordained minister in 2004.

He served his community as an EMT, beginning at the age of 17 volunteering for Santa Fe EMS. He continued his passion in public service as a career with Texas EMS, Galveston EMS, Pride EMS and a few others. He was also an EMT instructor for many years at College of the Mainland, Brazosport College and Alvin Community College.

A lesson could be learned from this kind spirit. He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He was a selfless, loving human being never expecting anything in return. He was a friend to all and a hero to his “girls” (his nieces).

Johnnie is survived by his partner of 23 years, David Aguilar; son John Michael Fuerst and his wife, Morgan; sister, Mary Kathryn Moy and her husband, Russell; nieces “His Girls”, Misty Ellis, Crystal Ellis, Angela Shipwash and her husband Jeffrey; great nieces, Andrea, Katrina, Adyson, and Abigail; and great nephews, Caleb, Chandler, Cody and Trip.
