John Monaghan passed away on August 28, 2012.  He was born April 24, 1938 to John and Joyce (Wenrich) Monaghan.  His beloved wife, Doris (Barks) Monaghan preceded him in death.

 

John is survived by two children and their spouses, John and Nicole Monaghan and Debra Monaghan and Michael Theiss, his wife Laura Monaghan, and five grandchildren, Morgan, Jessica, Michael, Dylan, and Connor. 

 

John graduated from Yeadon High School.  He then joined the US Army and served his country.  After his discharge from the US Army, he joined the IBEW Local 98 and worked as an electrician for over 35 years before he stopped due to an injury.

 

John was a Phillies and Wings season ticket holder and enjoyed attending the games with his family.  He also enjoyed fishing, basketball, bowling, football and hunting.

 

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 8th at 10am at O'Leary's Funeral Home in Springfield.
