From Daddy Ojeleye

"Segun you would have celebrated your 70th birthday today but the cold hand of death snatched you away from us. We take solace in the fact that the Lord had mercy on you and gave you the opportunity to properly reconcile yourself with your maker before you were taken away. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord until we meet to part no more. May the Lord’s abiding grace and presence be with your wife and children"

I remember you today as always.
How l missed you.
Your life was impactful; you were a useful vessel to all: family, community, friends and acquaintances.
You had a unique way of providing solutions to challenges: no one left without your calm and gentleman disposition rubbing off. You smiled through all.

You were an epitome of a true Christian with true values and a genuine personality.

Who are we to question God?.

You left a vacum that is yet to be filled.
My dear brother Segun; continue to rest in the blossom of the Lord.

The Scripture is indeed true and forever settled that says
"We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away." "The memory of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked shall rot."."Prv.10:7
Uncle truly we have happy memories of you. You blazed
the trail as a bright shining torch-light, showed the way forward, gave all that came in contact with you a ray of hope, you were solution personified to diverse challenges. As our parents would say, you were truly a son to them, not just their daughter's husband. We found you to be more than our Sister's husband but our own Senior Brother indeed. You remain senior as you have joined the Saints, the company of the Redeemed before us, by which exit you also 'seniored' Mama who left to join the same great company last year. You lived for Him while here on earth so continue to reign with Him up there. Ride on in Majesty with the King of Kings. We cherish those moments and we love you dearly.

Happy Posthumous 70th Daddy

March 9, 2023
Hey Daddy,
It would have been your 70th birthday today!
We could have had a blast, arranged a thanksgiving at church with family and friends.
We choose, today, to reflect on your being, your person and legacy. It has been /continuously a blessing to call you father, oh what joy!!

Thank you Sir for giving yourself to our world, for making indelible footprint on the sand of time and for keeping the faith!!

You made loving you easy and your memory is forever blessed.

Continue to bask in the glory of our heavenly Father till we meet at His feet on the resurrection morning

"As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing."
2 Timothy 4:6‭-‬8 NLT

Letter to Daddy

June 30, 2021
Dearest Daddy,
It's been 10 years since you were translated from an earthly being to a celestial one, Halleluyah!!!
One is sure you are yet scratching the surface of Glory in the real sense of the word even though one wishes you are still on this side of eternity.

Days have run into months and months into years, Indeed time and seasons have changed, people too, but God remains faithful.
It has been challenging without you in the family, your soft answer, your encouragement and words of wisdom have been so missed... Your advice resonates with us and your exemplary life speaks volume even after your your demise.

The precious memories we have of you lingers on in our hearts as we cherish them. The legacy you left is highly commendable and treasured.

Thank you Daddy for all you were to us, how you impacted your world in your own unique way, and showing us never to give up on our dreams no matter the obstacles. To say we miss you greatly is an understatement, your grandchildren (even unborn) will definitely be told of how beautiful a soul you were.

Till we meet again at the Father's feet, keep smiling and we hope to do you proud on this side of eternity.

Love always

Poem dedicated to The Man-'Segun Adetayo

As We Look Back

By an Unknown Author

As we look back over time
We find ourselves wondering …..
Did we remember to thank you enough
For all you have done for us?
For all the times you were by our sides
To help and support us …..
To celebrate our successes
To understand our problems
And accept our defeats?
Or for teaching us by your example,
The value of hard work, good judgment,
Courage and integrity?
We wonder if we ever thanked you
For the sacrifices you made.
To let us have the very best?
And for the simple things
Like laughter, smiles and times we shared?
If we have forgotten to show our
Gratitude enough for all the things you did,
We’re thanking you now.
And we are hoping you knew all along,
How much you meant to us.
