John's Obituary
John Paul Becker was called home on Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born on March 29, 1983 in Alexandria, Virginia.
John graduated from Suitland High School. He was accepted into the Visual and Performing Arts program because of his artistic abilities. He was a good student and often talked very fondly of his years at Suitland High School. He said those were the most enjoyable years of his life. He liked to listen to the Beatles and Michael Jackson.
He was a very sensitive, loving and caring person. After high school he moved to the Bronx in New York to help take care of his aging grandmother. He helped to take care of her for 5 years. He loved his family, children and animals.
John was a loving son to his mother. They would always hang out together; they would go on trips together, Robinson family picnics and parties; he was his mother’s best friend. John will be deeply missed by his parents, family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his stepfather Ronald Robinson, his maternal grandparents Luis Perez and Luz Martinez, his paternal grandparents Fred and Loretta Becker, by his aunt Nidia Mercado and two uncles, Edgardo Perez and Michael Becker.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Elda Perez Robinson, his father Gregory Paul Becker, his brother Paul Antonio Becker, his stepsister Denise McKissick, his aunts Maritza Perez and Mary Bockstiegel and two uncles, Tom and Jim Becker. He also leaves behind his cousins Omar Lopez and Jason and Daniel Rivera. He also leaves behind his special friends Jamar (Mookie) Robinson, Rick Navarro, Darren Murphy and Jeris Taylor
Greg Becker dedicates an old Irish song to his son:
“Where are the eyes that looked so mild
When my poor heart you first beguiled?
Why did ye run from me, my child
Oh Johnny, I hardly knew ye!”
