This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, John Robert Treece, 68 years old, born on April 15, 1952, and passed away on December 14, 2020. We will forever adore and remember you - we stand taller and stronger, knowing you are now watching over us - always believing.

John, born on April 15, 1952 was the spirited and adventurous son of Barbara and Harold Treece of Springfield, Illinois. He grew up with his two older sisters, Marilyn and Carolyn. As a young man he loved animals, the outdoors and motor vehicles. As he got older he valued hard work, working as a welder while earning his pilots license. His "you can achieve anything you put your mind to" attitude, charm and love of cars sparked his passion for sales. He excelled in positions at Citizen Watch and Tippecanoe Cemetery in Lafayette, Indiana. He also received his insurance and realtors licenses. For years, he sold health insurance until he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to retire with his partner of 20 years, LuLu Kinnett.

John was a wonderful father, son and friend. He always imparted sayings, prayers and songs that were at times insightful or could bring a chuckle to a serious moment. He enjoyed a good craft beer, watching football and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Rose Biesenthal and Harold Lee Treece; brother, William Lee; sister, Marylin Kunnard; nephew, Eric Michael Binion and beloved uncle, John Biesenthal.

He is survived by LuLu Kinnett; children, John and Lauren Treece; his sister, Carolyn Renton (Binion); nephew, Scott Binion and Aunt, Mary Virginia Woodrum (Wayne).
