Mr. John "Ray" Roundtree Jr. was born to the late Mr. John Ray(Sr.) and Mrs. Eddie Mae Roundtree on March 15, 1942. He was relieved of his earthy home on July 16, 2016 at the Gentiva Hospice Center, Columbus, GA.

“Ray”, as he was known to many was united in Holy Matrimony to the late JoAnne Lyons Roundtree. Into this union five children were born. John worked as a custodian with the Muscogee County Public School System for several years before retiring.

He is preceded in by his daughter Teri LaGail McKee and son Anthony Lamar Roundtree.

He leaves to cherish his memories of his three children: Syretta (Chris) Williams, Hamilton, GA; Veleka LaShay Roundtree and Kenyon Jirail Roundtree, Valley, AL; eight grandchildren, JaVonte' Deshon Roundtree Williams, TyKeyia Topanga Williams, Shaquoya Valenzia JiDashia Williams, Keyonte' DaShun Roundtree, Tobias Jamal Bonner, Anthony Xavier Roundtree, Naomi McKee, Victoria McKee; one great grandchild, Little Miss Aaliyah; two brothers, Eddie (Mary) James Roundtre, Hamilton, GA and Robert (Tunya) Roundtree, Dillon, SC; four nieces Shannon (Anthony) Jones, Ebony Roundtree, Maria Roundtree, Dillon, SC, LaShawndra (Jonzie) Dunn, Columbus, GA; two nephews, Carlos (Daphine) and Robert (Cecilia) Roundtree Dillon, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
