His Life

Mr. Mbeng John Tanyi was born 3/1/1964 in the then Victoria now Limbe.  He attended Cameroon Baptist Primary School Victoria from 1969 to 1972. He completed his primary school education in G.S. Tombel in 1976.  He thereafter was admitted in G.S.S. Nyasoso from 1976-1981 where he obtained his O levels. In 1981, he gained admission in Sasse College where he grduated in in 1984. In 1984/85, he enrolled in the faculty of Science of the University of Yaounde. In 1985, he was awarded a Cameroon Government Scholarship and he proceeded to the United Kingdom where he studied Agricultural Engineering in Cranford Institute of Technology, Silsoe College. He graduated in 1988 with B.Sc in Agricultural Engineer.

On his return to Cameroon, he was employed on the 10/6/89 by CDC as a Management field trainee. After his trial period, he was appointed Senior field Assistant in the Palms Sector of the CDC. From 10/1996-2002 he was appointed Estate Manager of Tole, and Djutissa Tea Estates. When the Tea Sector of CDC, was privatized, he was appointed Estate Manager of the Cameroon Tea Estate Tole from 2002-2006 and later as Technical Adviser to the General Manager of the CTE. He was later declared redundant. Later on, in 2008, Mr. Mbeng John Tanyi picked up a job as Field Assistant (Horticulture) in the University of Buea.

In May 2011, he re-engaged by the CTE and appointed as Plantation Manager of Ndu Tea Estate.  He held this post until his untimely death on the 29th October 2011 at the Catholic General Hospital Shisong, Banso

SOCIAL LIFE;
Mr. Mbeng John Tanyi was a good social mixer. He held many posts of responsibility especially financial in the Baptist Church, Village and Tribal meetings.  He was patron of many Baptist choral groups in the Ebenezer Baptist church great soppo, member of the Baptist Men Fellowship and an elder of the Ebenezer Baptist church great Soppo. He was also the National and Buea branch financial secretary of the Ewelle Social and Development Association (ESDA). He was once the National President of Nyasoso Ex. Student Association.  He was also until his transfer to Ndu the financial Secretary of the Ejagham Social And Development Association Buea..

Mr. Mbeng John Tanyi is survived by his wife Mrs. Mbeng Etaka Rachel, four children, mother,  brothers, sisters,  cousins , nephews, nieces and relatives.
