Mr. John Henry “Titus” Towns was born April 13, 1946 in Meriwether County, Ga. John was the second born of seven to the late Johnnie and LuVonya (Mitchell) Towns.

 

John attended Mountville Elementary School in Mountville, Ga. At an early age he moved to New Jersey where he later began his career working for the Ford Motor Company. Years later John moved to Atlanta, Ga and continued working for the Ford Company in the Paint and Auto Body Departments. Before his retirement, John received numerous certificates of recognition and employee appreciation awards; including a 30 Year Milestone Congratulatory Retirement Award.  After retiring, John enjoyed working part time for the Henry County Rock Quarry in Stockbridge, Ga until his health prevented him from working.

 

Some of John’s favorite hobbies and activities were barbecuing, watching westerns, and managing his own lawn care service (Tender Lawn and Care).

 

John was preceded in death by his sister Louise Hardaway and brothers Sammie Towns, John Lee Towns, Calvin Towns, and Leroy Towns.

 

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and devoted wife, Christine Towns; one son, Kojuan Jones; three step-daughters, Stephanie, Tabitha, and Kimberly Dallas; a dear and loving brother, Willie Frank (Christine) Towns; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandaughter he loved dearly Cydni “Boo-Boo” Way; Nine Aunts; Five Uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
