Trust Jesus

New Life - Eternal Life

We were once stupid maybe still, 
Disobedient and misled; 
And having a free flowing will; 
That could make us wind up as dead.

We were slaves to a lot of lust, 
Most time spent on earthly pleasures; 
Lincoln and Grant upheld my trust.
And provided me with treasures.

We were mean and also jealous, 
Envying those better than we; 
Addictive and overzealous, 
To the latest that we could see.

We were hated as much as them, 
Always trying to outdo us; 
And wishing that God would condemn, 
Every time we made a fuss.

The kindness of God our Savior, 
As His love toward humans appeared; 
He looked upon us with favor, 
Even though He was not revered.

Through His mercy we have been saved, 
Washed in which the Holy Spirit, 
Freed us from the things that enslaved, 
No regards to our merit.

He gives us new birth and renewal, 
That God poured out a large measure; 
Of His Spirit being like His jewel, 
And considered to be His treasure.

So through Jesus Christ our Savior, 
God gives approval with kindness; 
Looking upon us with favor, 
Showering us with blessedness.

We have become heirs with confidence, 
That we have everlasting life; 
As we love through obedience, 
And He will help us through the strife.

A Warning

The Grace in Which We Stand

People complain also find fault, 
And follow their own desires; 
They do not know when they should halt, 
And finally douse the fires.

They say many arrogant things, 
Flirt with the girls and flatter men; 
For the perspective that it brings, 
As to take advantage of them.

Remember what the believers, 
Of our Lord Jesus Christ told; 
Expect to be the receivers, 
Of mocking from those who are bold.

In the last days the mocking birds, 
Who ridicules God, will appear; 
Treating us like the cattle herds, 
And for the slaughter house to clear.

They follow other desires,
Of false gods and fancied doctrine;
From the dark side that inspires,
The continuation of sin.

These people will cause divisions,
Just concerned of physical things;
While dreams with wicked visions,
Continue as the evil brings.

Use your most holy faith to grow,
With help of the Holy Spirit;
Stay in His love and you will know,
Through His grace what you inherit.

Eternal life is what He gives,
Lord Jesus Christ through His grace;
Whoever believes also lives,
And shall be feeling His embrace.

For the grace in which we do stand,
Is a solid rock foundation;
And no way like the sinking sand,
Like some may think of salvation.
