You will always live in our heart.
I hope you will enjoy your day in Heaven. You are sadly missed by your friends and especially Patricia.
You were a really good friend to Barry and I. We all shared so many laughs. So many parties in your beautiful home in Anaco.
You will always be in our hearts. ❤️♥️ Love Frannie and Barry
When I need a laugh, I always remember of our time in Fort Lauderdale over 20 years ago...He and Patricia met me at a restaurant and for some reason I thought the green stuff put on the plate was Guacamole, so I took a big bite of that and it wasn't Guacamole....it was Wasabi and I was choking out...He and Patricia couldn't stop laughing … Thinking of John, I like to remember that side of him...I miss you my friend!
Thanks Chidi for putting this together!
I have known John a short but enjoyable 3 years. From his sincerity and open personality, John gave me immediate credibility to the businesses we discussed. One evening John and I enjoyed a good discussion and a great dinner at the Brazilian restaurant Fogo de Chao, which he really liked and was very happy to have taken me there.
We miss being with nice people when they are gone. John, I will miss you very much.
My condolences to John's family and friends.

"Manos Aririba"
Trey Childers arrived to work one morning in 2006 in a quiet mood. He been to the superestacion to get a Daily Journal had stopped at the Panaderia La Perla to get a coffee and visit with the the morning gang. He had left his truck unlocked and Faulkner had quietly climbed aboard and hidden in the back seat and covered up with a big beach towel. When he had been rolling a few hundred yards or so to the next red light, John grapped his seat belt from behind and poked a finger into his ribs extorting "MANOS ARRIBA". Poor Trey dreched himself with coffee and saw his life flash before his eyes. To his relief a few moments later after identifying the culprit and relizing that this was not his day to be left naked on the side of the road with no car in the nearby monte and they both had a good chuckle over the prank.
John Faulkner was gold plated character, part of the local scenery and certainly a key player in the US Expat -Venezuela lore of the 80 and 90's in Anaco.
Bon Voyage amigo. You left us plenty of good tales.
Saludos, - Hal -
The belt buckle
I met John in Anaco. He was always smiling, laughing and filled a room with his personality and wit. He had a way of making you feel as if your were friends for life within minutes.
The other thing I remeber from that day was his darn weed belt buckle. Weighed half as much as he did and he knew everyone noticed it, and yet ignored and enjoyed know it was creating an effect. That night later on, he asked me if I had noticed it in an off the cuff way, and what I though. to which my answer was, yes I see it, and remind me to never go thru US customs together. He had the biggest laugh and riffed jokes of that for over 15 minutes leaving us all in stitches.
Fun, helpful, generous and bigger than life. A good friend.
