John "Wayne” Delozier Sr, 68, of Loveville died October 15, 2013, at his home in Cedar Lane Apartments in Leonardtown MD

Born Jan 10, 1945, in Leonardtown, he was the son of the late John Jefferson Delozier and Irma Agnes Morgan Delozier.

His ex wife Mary "Ruth" Bailey Delozier, and Brother Douglas Delozier both proceeded him in death.

He is survived by his children, J. Wayne Delozier Jr. of Dameron, Bryan A. Delozier of California, and M. Dawn Delozier of Mechanicsville; his grandchildren, Ashley Mattingly, Amber Delozier, Shyann Delozier, and Cody Delozier (children of J. Wayne Delozier) and Sebastian Yotko and Jayden Quade  (children of M. Dawn Delozier.) His great grandchildren Edward Ponce & Gunner Niccum.

A lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, he graduated from St. Mary’s Ryken in Leonardtown in 1964. He received his Associate's Degree from St. Mary's Collage in St. Marys City MD. He was a school teacher, and tutor. Later in life he became a St. Marys County Animal Warden until retirement in the 1990's.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, cookouts and spending time with his family (when his health permitted it) He could tell you the name of every native tree or plant in the area, how to root, seed, plant, and propagate just about anything.  You could always count on him for a laugh and a smile. Always joking, and always trying to impress the ladies with his outgoing personality & handsome comb-over... even in his wheel chair. He was an avid book reader when his sight was still good.

The family will receive friends November 3, 2013  from 1 to 4 p.m. at  Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad  in Hollywood,  for  A Memorial Service in honor of the deceased, where  pictures will be shown, words will be shared, memories, and food.
