The Life of Johnathan Hudson

August 19, 2021
Johnathan R. Hudson, Sr. was born to A.B. Hudson and the late Essie Mae Washington on July 4, 1959, in Homestead, Florida.  He peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2021.  John has lived in Auburn, New York.  After his mom's passing, he was raised in Ft. Pierce, Fl by his Aunt Bessie Mae Peterson.  John was a hard worker and always held a job.  After graduating from high school, he joined the Marines for a brief time, he also became a certified mechanic.  After coming to Cincinnati to visit his sister, he decided to stay and make a life here.

John accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in his teens and served God from that point on.  He was a faithful servant. He was a Deacon at New Life Temple Church for 35 years.  He served as Sr. Leader in the nursery, youth, education, men’s and singles ministry.  John often opened-up his home for church youth events as well as to young family members who were trying to get established.  He never met a stranger and could be counted on to make everyone laugh.  He also helped anyone who needed help.  He would assist people with moving and he either fixed or gave advice on cars.  He made many friends while working as a Mechanic at the Lincoln-Mercury dealership.  He also made many friends at his current job as a Juvenile Correction Officer for Hamilton County.

He was affectionately known as 'Uncle Raymond' or Raymond by many.  John loved his family and spent time visiting his siblings as well as spending time and calling his many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.  John enjoyed cooking family recipes and he especially enjoyed cooking fish.  It was one of his favorite things to do.  He would fry fish and invite others over to enjoy it.  He was a wonderful and friendly neighbor.  If he saw you, he would stop and chat.

John leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 22 years, Rhonda Autry Hudson; son Johnathan R. Hudson, II; daughter Alicia Autry.  His grandkids who called him 'Papa' - Madysen and Mason Autry; his father A.B. Hudson (Sally); father-in law Bernard Victor; mother-in-law Gwendolyn Marshall and Aunt Viola Sikes McCloud.

His siblings: Robert Washington (Mary); Leonard Washington (Lillie); Earnestine Rumph (Albert); Katherine Moore (Jerry); Clarence Hudson (Diana); Matthew Washington; Bradley Hudson (Holli); and Katina Washington.  He is predeceased by his sister Brenda Johnson (Kenny).

His in-laws: Phillip Autry (Carmencita); Thomas Gibson; Artice Mulder; Bryant Mangham; Vada Marshall; and Kiesa Rushing-Edwards (Tre). He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
