John, I still can't believe that you needed to say goodbye to us one year ago today. I didn't want to accept that our time together had ended.  Over this past year I thought about the many gifts you gave me by just being my brother and my friend. Thank you for your respect, your love of my family, your funny stories and great sense of humor, your unending ideas. your honesty, your gentleness, and on. I will never forget you and I will always love you. Someday we will laugh together, face to face; I wonder what we will poke fun at first!

Happy Birthday, John. I miss sending a card or wishing you a happy birthday on the phone. It is hard to realize that no more cards are needed. But I will always wish you Happy Birthday on your day because you are important to all of us and greatly missed. Hope your new place is like "heaven" (you always liked to joke!) All my love to my brother John who left us a little too early.

To all the Berger Family,
I am so sorry to hear the news of John's passing. I enjoyed seeing the pictures. I remember visiting your home as a kid and mostly playing with the girls, but I am sure John was part of the fun too. I remember playing in the basement!
Jan and family, please know I am thinking of you and keeping you all in my prayers.
Love,

My good friend is gone and I miss him terribly. My sympathies to his family and those who loved him as I did, as well as my family. He was an "adopted" son and brother to my parents and sisters. He was kind and supportive to my daughter along with my cousin Ann. When he couldn't get home to celebrate holidays with his family, he joined us. We will cherish those memories and the wonderful pictures he took of my family members and especially those fabulous sunset pictures!!!!! He loved being at my folks' on the beach for dinner and the sunset. I won't watch one without thinking of him and wishing him peace.

I am very saddened to read this. I enjoyed every bit of time I spent with John.  He was as kind and generous a person as I have ever met. Even though I havent seen him in years I always hoped we'd get together again to share stories and belly laughs.  Godspeed John, you will be missed!
