John Reid Carson was born on 11 Feb 1935 in Airdrie Scotland 
His paremts were Samuel Carson (Born: 12.10.1897 Died 31.12.1966) and Alice (Born 2.9.1905 Died 22.8.1987) 

John had 5 brothers and sisters and was brought up in Corby Northants.
He played the drums and had a love of Glen Miller and Big Band sounds. 

John got into aeroplanes after school by joining the RAF

Moved to Iverheath and then Maidenhead
Had two kids Alastair and Jacquie 

Ba overseas engineer
Served time in the Falklands 
Serving expat time in Bahrain where he partied with Keith and Finola in the 70's sailing in his boat and catching sharks.

As well as his kids Jacquie and Alastair, John has six grandkids (in age order) Josh, Jasmine, Sky, Cara, Aran, Millie.

John loved this picture - it hung in his living room for 20 years and I think it summed up his passion for his work and the safety and security he gave to millions of the flying public over his many years of service as a BA Engineer. If you've flown by British Airways it's possible that he had your safety in his hands at some point.
