Loving this whole family was easy

May 7, 2013

We remember John & Barbra(Bobbi) when they were very small.  John was 2 and lived right next door with his wonderful Mom & Dad & sister. John and our son Ken became friends, after a typical 2year old reaction to  movinging into a different home in a different area. They were a fun family and really good neighbors. The memories we shared will sustain us through this sadness.

John

It always seemed that John was the one all the little kids were crowding around, besides Lorri of course. He was the guy that always had a smile on his face and a laughter that could be heard across town. John and I got the chance to talk quite a bit on our Mission trip in Haiti, and all I have to say is that I have the utmost respect for this guy. It was easy to tell how much he loved his son because he would constantly talk about him.  John, I wish we would have stayed in contact after our trip to Haiti, but regardless your an awesome dude and you will be missed.

Haiti 2012

April 19, 2013

John was able to go on a mission trip to Haiti this past May 2012 with 12 other members of Kensington church.  It was amazing to see how the children just flocked to John as if he was giving away candy.  The kids were hanging all over John the whole time we were there whether it was in the small villages we visited sharing the love of Christ or painting a newly built home, the kids always seemed to love John.  I believe it was John's spirit of acceptance which the kids seemed to love.  No matter what John would befriend anyone and would hang out with them, have a good time and I think this is why the kids loved him so much.  He just wanted to be their friend and the kids needed a friend which they found in John.  He truly was a caring man with a big heart for those less fortunate.  John will always have a special place in my heart and I will just have to wait until I am called home to spend eternity with him and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Love you John and see ya soon.

John was one of my funniest friends, he always had a kind word to say and would find something to laugh about. John and I worked together and he would make friends with everyone he met. Sometimes our work took us to some pretty tough neighborhoods, didn't matter to John, he'd crack jokes with everyone he met and inevitably he'd make friends with people from all walks of life. It's hard to believe that my friend has gone on, I don't understand why he chose to leave but I can say my life was enriched by knowing him and his smile will stay with me forever...  RIP John, know that you are loved and will be fondly remembered by your friends and loved ones.
