His Life

John was sober for four years and not one slip. The John I knew wasn't the John that a lot of people knew. I knew the John that wanted to become the John that had a heart of gold. The church John the religious side of John the John that taught Isabella how to pray every morning when he woke up and every night before you went to sleep.

John had became a family man instead of the party John. He learned how to let go of grudges and not let things get to him. He had became a person of faith to watch the sign and follow with his heart. He have let go of a lot of different things a lot of different ghosts in his life he said goodbye to his passed. He had let go of all the hurt. He had made peace with his mom.

He was happy we were happy.  We couldnt wait for Isabella to grow up and go to school. He would joke with her and say, "I cant wait til you bring home a boy. Because I am going to open the door and say Hello." Now I personally wanted this to come true.  Could you imagine a 6'3 football player looking man staring down a kid.

He had dreams of being the best husband and father. Wanted to build a white house with a wrap around porch. With a tire swing for Bells.

We were a family we are very happy. So many stories to tell John love taking Isabella to the park to see the ducks or to the park to get on the slides and run around with her at the park. He once showed her how to fly a kite he told her the story about how he was a little boy he was flying a kite and he tie the rope the lawn mower. And he went inside to watch one of his favorite shows. Went back outside and the kite was still flying. He love the watching movies Star Wars the Big Bang. He quote every show that he saw. It was funny sometimes he be talking to me but he was quoting shows or movies. And I would tell him do you have any thoughts of your own and he would come up with the quote from a movie.

John had a heart of gold, a temper that could cause an earthquake and a smile that could make you believe.  I could never stay mad at him long because he would always make me laugh.  Oh and he had a hug that just made you melt.  Bear Hugs he always said, "If your going to hug someone do it right the first time."

We finally got our own place at a one bedroom apartment and we didn't have anything not a bed or sofa even a kitchen. Few little things here and there. But we made it home and we were so proud of it. We had two old broken recliners that his parents gave to us. John would sit on the recliner and every time he would open it up to relax he would fall backwards there is literally a hole in the wall from where he fell it still there today. A few months before Isabella's first birthday we got a king size bed I wasn't home when he purchased it I was at work. And he called me on the phone when he bought it and I told him how are you going to get it home. He said, "Don't worry I got this." He called me while he was driving down the freeway. He tied the king size bed on top of his Lincoln. Which he called the stinking Lincoln with a rope. And he was telling me he was holding it with one hand while he was driving and I was praying it didn't fall off the freeway. I then asked how are you talking to me because you don't have an ear piece and are your hands on the wheel. He said" "No i have one hand on the mattress my other hand on the phone and my leg is driving the car right now. I got off the phone with him very quickly. Isabella had turned one and she had so much fun that day and so did. He put up a piñata and tree and he literally filled it with candy from the bottom of its toes to the top that it was so heavy that it wouldn't stay on the tree. He was so proud that he was able to give Isabella a birthday party. The rest of that year we had celebrated holidays together and got new things for the house then we worked and I became a stay-at-home mom. And he was so happy when you would come home and always have the house clean dinner ready and be with their prayers we had our routine

Isabella was born I just remember him holding her this little tiny person that literally fit in one palm of his hand. If you can imagine a 6'3 football player looking guy crying while he was holding his daughter. And he looked at me and said I promise I am going to take care of my girls. He changed her first diaper and talk to her for the first time. Mind you he put the diaper on backwards and used a whole pack of wipes. He even called the nurse and said, "I have an emergerncy in here." I remember 2 doctors and 3 nurses running in ready to roll. And he said, "Oh I am sorry I just meant I am out of diapers."

While I slept in the hospital I could hear this god awful voice singing, " You are my sunshine". And I remember looking over at him as he was rocking her to sleep. Her eyes were wide open looking at her daddy and he was looking straight at her. Like nobody was in the room but the two of them.

We grew into our little family in our one bedroom apartment.

Everyone use to ask, "How did you guys meet" we would say, "a mutual friend named Tom" Well it's no Secret we really met on My Space. I was browsing around one night and saw John's picture. And I thought to myself WOW he's kind of cute. So sent him a message saying "Hi" And he sent me a message back saying "So what makes you smile?" that statement became our own personal story. A week went by and I finally agreed to meet him. We met at the SILVER DOLLAR in Fresno California. And he got out of this Honda that he just bought and I remember looking at him saying wow he is tall. John was 6'3 and I 5'1 and he joked around with me all night because on my profile I believe it said 5'2 and he told me you didn't have to lie about your height because I like you already. That night I remember being able to talk to him so comfortable like I was talking to my best friend. And we laughed and got to know each other and it was just so pretty. We used to love going to the park and feeding ducks and just walking around and watching the sunset we talked a lot about what we wanted out of life and who he was. He told me about all the stories from childhood and the ones he loved and the ones he wanted to forget. July 19, 2007 John actually proposed to me and I was so excited and I remember him being so nervous and the look on his face like I was going to say no. And we always did plan on getting married and there is no excuse for not but things just kept happening over and over that prevented us from making that commitment. Later in the fall I found out I was pregnant and the look on his face was so hilarious it was the same look on his face that he happened Bella was born.
