A beloved husband, awesome father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, Johnnie passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the age of 90 years old.

He was the son of the late Johnnie and Channie Calhoun Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his lovely wife, Mattie Jenkins; five sisters and three brothers.

Johnnie leaves to cherish his memories, ten children, six daughters, Gloria, Channie, Essie, Katie (Edward), Jessie (Johnny) and Ida Pearl, all of Union Springs, AL; four sons, John Lee, William, Thomas, all of Union Springs, AL and Fred (Phyllis), Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Lula B. (Fred) River, Union Springs, AL, Lillie M. White, Emma L. Downing, Haines City, FL and Kattie B. Percell, New Jersey; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, six sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Artie McNair.
