His Life

A son of the late Alfred and Dolan Turpin Crawford, Mr. Crawford was born in Fortson, GA and a was a 1945 graduate of William H. Spencer High School. He was a member of Mt. Gilead AME Church in Fortson where he served as the Church Musician for over 40 years, a Steward and Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, the Elder Brothers Board, Pastor's Aide Committee and the Sons of Allen. He was employed for 28 years with the Muscogee County School System as a Bus Driver and Mechanic, and as Coach of the Jordan High School Girls Basketball Team.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Paschal Crawford. Survivors include: a son, Edward D. Crawford; a daughter, Willene Terry Bailey; a loving daughter-in-law, Glenda Crawford; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, James Henry Crawford (Icyphine) and William Joseph Crawford; two sisters, Barbara Wade and Doris Hawkins (Donald); a sister-in-law, Myrtis Crawford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
