His Life
February 20, 2016

Mr. Teal was born in Franklin, Georgia on November 13, 1943, the son of the late Eady Odene Lancaster Teal and Lewis Teal. He was a graduate of Heard County High School and Carroll Technical College, and was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church. He was retired from the Franklin Aluminum Company where he served on the maintenance staff. It was Mr. Johnny’s dream to own his own garage. Teal’s Garage became a gathering place for the local’s to gather and receive quality automotive services. When his daughter Allene was young he loved taking her camping and especially loved boating. Mr. Johnny loved working on race cars and watching them perform on the drag racing circuit. After his retirement, he became a regular fixture at the Quickie Flash Foods gas station in downtown Franklin. He enjoyed being at the front door so he could visit with the friend’s he grew up with and loved. He was especially kind to the elderly people. When he saw them pull up he would rush to the gas pump so they would not have to get out of their cars to pump gas. His daughter was the very center of his life. He was a kind gentle man who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Allene Longshore of Franklin, GA.; one nephew Tony Cook; two nieces Amy and Ann Cook; and one, much adored cousin, Shirley Laster who devoted much time, energy, and love toward his care.

Other than his parents he was preceded in by one beloved sister Fannie Marie Teal Cook.
