A Time To Be Born: Johnny (Bubba) Shy, Jr., born July 2, 1947 to the Late Isabell and Johnny Shy, Sr. in Madison, Georgia.
A Time To Gain: At an early age he joined The Little Zion Temple Holiness Church in Covington, Georgia. Then later confessed his life to Christ and joined The Macedonia Baptist Church, Grantville, Georgia.
A Time To Grow: Johnny received his education in The Newton County School System. He later joined the workforce and became employed with Dobbs House International (Gate Gourmet) of Atlanta, Georgia in 1965. In 1966 he was inducted into the United States Army, where he served in the Air Force and did a term in the Vietnam War, he was discharged in 1968. Later he returned to Gate Gourmet, where he managed several positions. After forty-three years of service he retired due to his health.
Those Who Preceded Him in Death: His mother and father, Isabell and Johnny Shy, Sr., one sister, Vera Heard.
A Time To Mourn: Leaving to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of thirty-four years, Rose Shy; three daughters, Yvette Shy, Deidre (Reggie) Shy and Kimberly Shy; two step-children, Coretta (Terry) Anthony and Adrain (Nichole) Hill, Sr.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Thomas; four brothers-in-law, Charlie (Lydia) Matthews, James (Mattie) Matthews, John (Frances) Matthews and Fred (Arlena) Matthews; one sister-in-law, Emma J. (Charles) Benning; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
