Favorite song at Carol singing

November 30, 2016
by U H

My dad loved all the carols and Christmas songs but there was one song he was very fond of, that is..
Zara chupke se kholo dar ko
phir dekhen tumhare ghar ko
aha rangilee jhandiyon se ghar ko saja ke humko diwana ker diya
humne bhi khushi mei ghar mei gana ker diya

Lal neele ye gubbare jhandiyan jhalar,
apne dil kholker tumne kharch kare dollar,
lo kamizon se nikale humne bhi collar
zara chupke se kholo dar ko

I forgot the rest, if anybody knows it, you are most welcome to share it here at this site. Love my dad and love his enthusiasm for Christmas.

The Garden of Love : My Nana

May 15, 2015
Known for his golden voice and his gentle appearance, was my nana, so loving , so perfect and indeed a well organised person. I remember my nana as a shower of blessings and The Almighty's love for us. I enjoyed 19 years of my life with him, he was always there with us, in all our ups and downs! Bible reading and urdu hymns were very special part of his life.I always observed him as a leader in the church choir. Those coconut cookies, kachori, kullad ka doodh, samrat's butter chicken, pakorde, were all time favourite dishes of my nana and I never saw my nana without a poly bag which had all these stuffs whenever he came to my home or else we went to his place. It was a beautiful time we spent with him. He was the one very strong, courageous, who balanced his ship whenever the storm came, during the voyage of his life. Time spent with him was immensely wonderful! Today , on this special day, yeah .. it's my nana's day .. his birthday... I wish him a very very happy birthday! !! Dear nana, Your memory is a keepsake , from which we'll never apart. Miss you until we meet again!

My Dad

December 25, 2014

My dad... I can never explain him in a word. He used to like perfection, whenever I used to work on any school project he would emphasize on perfection. He was the owner of a beautiful handwriting. He always used to dream big for his children. He was not only a wonderful dad but was an awesome grandpa.
My dad was one of the few people who never smoked and never had alcohol in his whole life. I am so proud of him not only for that but for being a very hard working man too. He did so much for all his children till we all had a proper job or any time we needed him. When I was little I would not go to bed until my dad take me in his lap and rock me. Still remember sleeping on his arm. He was a very strict teacher. He motivated me to continue my job in a recovery room when two months later I wanted to quit the job because I found it hard, my dad asked me "Do the nurses who work there have a different training than you?" I said "no". Then he said "If they can do it you can do it too". I worked there for fifteen years till I left for abroad.
My dad loved to sing hymns (Bhajan) whether it was in the church or in any prayer meeting. He taught us all those too specially his favorite ones. By the God's grace we all could sing well, we all used to sing together at home. In the church when sometimes one of us (children) stops singing he would look at our face and say sing, why did you stop? I had never heard him singing other than a hymn. He had pretty good voice.
Urdu was one of the other languages that he knew. His bible and hymn book was in Urdu language. Whenever there was any Urdu word in any hymn that he thought youngsters would not understand, he would stop and explain the meaning of the word first. Being a daughter I have several memories of him, I am proud to be his daughter. Love you dad.
