This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, John Walker, 86 years old, born on November 2, 1937, and passed away on November 29, 2023. We will remember him forever.  Chief Walker joined the Southard Fire Department in 1960 and was an instrumental part of one of the most influential and constructive generations that the department has seen.  He sculpted the professional and successful organization.  John rose to the ranks of Chief in 1966 and later went on to serve as President in 1969.
