the best of the best. I didn't get to spend as much time with Johnny as I wanted to, but he was always with me in my heyday.
I appreciate the candor he gave me when I was so sick.  he kept my secrets and always made sure I was safe even when I was naughty. I loved him like he was my own real brother. All of the weg children were always so kind to me especially when they told me about the ougi board and the spirit in the backyard of the house in howell that Theresa and Lenny senior shared. They would tell me wonderful stories about Vince and Helen Lee and from Howell, my grandparents. Always watched put for Grandma Lee, mozelle and me. They were always interested in my schooling, social life and especially my faith. I miss the weg family especially Lenny Weg my step-dad. who always protected me, drove me to and from Long Branch Train station when I lost my license. He taught me about roasted chicken and saurkraut, He spoke to me in German, and let me be upset when Mom and I would fight.
took me to the hospital even I when I didn't deserve it.
I tried to save him when he had his ablation in 2008 and he was a cardiac patient on Mehandru 6. And I always made sure he took his vitamins, his water pills and he took care of his legs with Dr. Franco. Lenny, Lenny and Johnny , you are missed by me. I love you all, and hope you all are living it up, in the kingdom of God's glory.
Love

To Sean, Tommy and the Weg family.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my friend John and wish to extend my deepest and most heart felt condolences to his son Sean, his brother Tommy and to all of you.
John very proudly wore the badge and represented H.T.P.D with honor, dignity and the utmost integrity during his long and distinguished career. He served the entire Howell community and treated the residents with respect, compassion and understanding.
Before John embarked on his law enforcement career, he was briefly an elementary school teacher at St. Veronica's School where my children, Craig and Jennifer, were truly blessed to have been 2 of his students. They "loved" Mr Weg and were happy to introduce us at a parent- teacher conference. When John was eventually hired by Howell Township, he kept his promise to his students and returned one day to visit, permitting them to take turns sitting in his patrol car.
"Thank you, John for always being there for the students of St Veronica and the residents of Howell Township.
You are truly one of the kindest and most humble human beings that I have ever had the honor and privilege of knowing.
Now, may you enter God's Kingdom and be reunited with your family members who went before you and Rest In Peace in God's hands for all of eternity.

I am sorry to hear the news and my thoughts are with the Weg family. CPL Weg was great guy who went out of his way to make me feel included and show me how to treat people when I was a young police explorer riding along on the evening shift with HTPD. I am grateful for the opportunity to have spent time with him.

Tommy, Sean and the entire Weg Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute to a man who lived life in the highest regard for others. John, as I always referred to as, “Father John” had the patience of a Saint. I told him many times he should have been in priesthood. That is the highest honor that could ever be bestowed upon oneself. God was a very big part of John’s life and as such he needed to call him home. John has touched many lives in his journey here on earth and he is now needed in the Lord’s Kingdom to finish that journey. May the Lord comfort the one’s left behind that John touched with great memories. God Bless.    Joe Fiore

Sean, Tom and the entire Weg Family. I was deeply moved and saddened upon learning about the passing of John. Even though I am entering my 25th year of Retirement; I can still see the extreme Happiness and Pride that John displayed when he became a Howell Township Police Officer. He was ecstatic about serving and protecting his fellow residents, neighbors and citizens of Howell. John was a true Professional Officer, Fair and Compassionate. John was the Officer that we wanted when a call was sensitive and emotional, He had the ability to calm and reassure victims as well as complainants. Unfortunately, John has joined our 'Precinct up-above too soon'. "To our absent Brothers". You and your entire Family will be in mine and Jackie's Thoughts and Prayers. Rest in Peace my Brother in Blue. Dennis Scott

John was the consummate gentleman, and took the highest pride in being an officer. The hard work he did with the Bowling with Santa as well as other PBA activities each year produced thousands of smiles. John was a mentor and friend to anyone who wore our uniform. I will truly miss his ability to mediate our discussions during our daily briefings with his approval "I'll allow that", or disapproval "Not right". I know John is watching over his brothers and sisters in blue.  He left each of us with good memories and laughs, but also with a prime example of service.  Godspeed John.

My sincere condolences to the Weg family. I worked with John shortly as he was my court officer before he retired. He was a genuine, good man. He loved to brag about his son, and you could tell how proud he was of Sean. May God comfort you all in your time of need.
