This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Jonathan Barrett Ellis Sweeney, 25, born on March 28, 1988 and passed away on September 1, 2013. We will remember him forever.  Jonathan was born at Holy Cross Hospital to Cynthia Hope Ellis. of Aliceville, Alabama and Bernard James Sweeney, of Terre Haute, Indiana  in the early evening of March 28, 1988 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  He lived until 1990 in Lighthouse Point, Florida where his mother was the Children's Librarian for the City of Pompano Beach.  He lived in Covington, LA from 1990 until 1995 where his mother was Juvenile Services Director for St. Tammany Parish Library System/  From 1995 - 2000 he lived in various areas of Alabama, including several years with his beloved grandparents, Junior and JuLouise Hines.  He moved with his mother to Delray Beach, Florida in 2000 until September 2003. They moved to Columbus, MS where he attended Columbus High School and made many friends and became the man that we all knew and loved. Jonathan was very special and will be missed by us all.

Jon and Hope will always be sorely missed. Never, have I ever experienced heartache as great as losing these two friends. They were always there for me when I was going through hard times. I really wish I could've been there for them.

I remember meeting John, thinking how wonderful of a person he was. Anytime you wanted or needed to be cheerful or cheered up John would be there. He conquered so many harsh obstacles in his life, and made the best of what he had till the end. I miss you so much man. knowing that I am on my own again. You were the brother a never had but always wanted. I talk to u every day hope u hear me.
