His Life
October 24, 2013

Jonathan James Jimenez was born in Brooklyn NY to his proud parents Sharon Belesi, Joseph Belesi and Hector Jimenez on July 19, 1987.  He had a calm and gentle spirit.  He enjoyed playing video games, reading, writing novels and interacting with his friends.  He was exceptionally interested in movies, especially action and science fiction.

Jonathan graduated from Baldwin Senior High School in 2005, attended Nassau Community College and worked as a Sous Chef in Joe’s Crab Shack.  He was an absolute master of eggplant parmesan.  The family all enjoyed his special barbeque sauce and offerings at family gatherings.

Jonathan will be remembered dearly by his mother, Sharon, fathers Joseph and Hector, sister Samantha and brother Victor; sister-in-law Stefania; aunts Damariz Winborne, Vanessa Meade Marcus, Lyndia Frances Meade, Angela Pinder, Sarih Meade Santiago, Nancy Vargas and Loretta Meade; uncles Mario Meade, Andreas Marcus and Noel Santiago.

Jonathan’s nieces Alani and Ianna Meade will always remember their beloved Uncle

Jon Jon. Cousins Fatina and Joseph, Ronald and Senovia, Raleigh and Sandra, Anthony and Jennifer, Clifton, Lisa, Nicoleta and Blair,  Aristalia and Frank, Ja’sohn and Candace, Jessica, Javin, John Paul, Justin, Maurice, Christina, Chevone, Chyna, Maya, Aubrey, Kintara, Isaiah, Jamari, Tylill, Kenny and Jason.  In addition, a host of other family members, extended family and friends will keep Jonathan’s memory alive.

Jonathan will join his grandparents, Cynthia Meade, Lillian and Andrew Fields, Aldo, and Sylvia Belesi, aunt Brenda Meade, and cousins Raven, and Noel Jr., spending eternity in God’s presence.

The world will greatly miss this gentle giant.

We love you Jonathan and we always will

The family appreciates your prayers, condolences and kindness.  Please continue to pray for us in the coming months.

The beloved youth, whose death we now and here lament, was a child of bright intelligence and of peculiar promise. He possessed many excellent qualities of mind and heart, which greatly endeared him, not only to the family circle, of which he was a member, but to his youthful companions, and to all his acquaintances and friends. His mind was active, inquisitive, and conscientious; his disposition was amiable and affectionate; his impulses were kind and generous; and his words and manners were gentle and attractive. It is easy to see how a child, thus endowed, would entwine himself around the hearts of those who knew him best; nor can we wonder that the grief of his affectionate mother to-day is like that of Rachel weeping for her children, and refusing to be comforted, because they were not.

"There is a world above
Where sorrow is unknown;
A long eternity of love,
Formed for the good alone;
And faith beholds the dying here
Translated to that glorious sphere."

Funeral Sermon for William Wallace Lincoln by Dr. Gurley on February 24, 1862
