Jonathan was an abundantly creative and loving man, who cherished his family and friends with all his heart. He adored his nieces and nephews--Ellen Luhn Buford, Miles Luhn, Reid Luhn, Nathaniel Hartman, Benjamin Hartman, Holly Eve Drabkin and Ari Drabkin, and he was so proud of them. He was always ready for play--a sport, board game or a wrestle and tumble! A natural teacher with unlimited patience, he taught them to surf, skate board, ski, tennis and to have fun. He was a gentle man, all knowing and kind. He is missed beyond words and will be remembered and cherished forever.

That sweatshirt Jon is wearing with the sea shells in his eyes was typical Jon humor. Steven's Pass Kicks Ass. That's the ski resort in the Cascades in Washington where Jon received his first Professional Ski Instructor certification. From there he went on to teach in Lake Tahoe as well as in Colorado at Aspen Mountain. That was JON. Sea and Ski. And Music and Poetry and Love.

Friends of Jon are invited to Celebrate his Life Saturday May 21 at 3pm. We are gathering at Sandie and Chris Luhn's home, the home Jon grew up in. 2190 Casa Mia Drive in San Jose. (95124) Everyone is welcome.

This is Jon's big sister Jenn. We said goodbye to Jon today at the funeral home in San Francisco. He looked at peace. Just want everyone to know that no matter what message boards say or speculate, Wednesday was just another great day for Jon. He wrote all morning as usual at his desk looking out toward Ocean Beach. Went out to surf before noon and was found by Good Samaritan Dawn of Piedmont who was walking her dog around 1 pm. Dawn saw Jon about 80 feet out at the first sand bar. Dawn went out and brought my brother to shore. Strong lady. While we'll never know exactly what happened Wednesday, we know from the Medical Examinar that there is great relief knowing that his injuries suggest a quick and sudden death. We believe he did not suffer. We don't know why but the Ocean called him home. We love you Jon and will miss you forever.
