Let the memory of Jordan be with us forever
  • 21 years old
  • Born on June 22, 1985 .
  • Passed away on August 25, 2006 .

Cpl. Jordan C. Pierson of Milford, Connecticut graduated from Foran High School in Milford in 2003 and enlisted with the Marines that December. He postponed studies at the University of Connecticut to serve in Iraq. At about the time Pierson shipped off with Charlie Company for Operation Iraqi Freedom, his mother wrapped a thick yellow ribbon around the widest tree in her front yard. Nearing the end of a grueling tour of duty in Iraq, Marine Jordan was looking forward to returning home and was already making plans to go skydiving. He never made it. He was awarded a Purple Heart after he and another serviceman were hit with shrapnel earlier when a grenade exploded near them. His unit arrived in Fallujah in late March and was scheduled to return in late October. He spoke to his family nearly weekly by telephone, said in his most recent conversation that he was looking forward to coming home and continuing his college studies. The plans for skydiving were typical of a man who enjoyed riding a motorcycle and playing paintball. It was a serious mission and it was a draining mission. If you learn anything from Jordan's example, you will have learned that he gave of himself and how will you give of yourself today. He was a 2003 graduate of Joseph A. Foran High School in Milford. He was a student at the University of Connecticut who postponed his studies to serve in Iraq. He was not married, was studying business and considering a minor in psychology. Neighbors remembered a boy who was always running across yards with a big smile across his face. He always had that smile. He is survived by his parents, Beverley and Eric Pierson; and a brother, Ethan. He was 21.
