Jordon Meinster received an art scholarship from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and from the Philadelphia Board of Education to go to Tyler School of Fine Arts. He taught art at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. He received an art scholarship from the University of Puerto Rico to study in Madrid, Spain.

He was twice finalist for the American Academy in Rome and asked to submit actual paintings for review.

 He recently had a show (Jan 2011)at Mindy Solomon Galleries St Petersburg, FL

 He had a one man show at the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan. 

He was commissioned by Mrs. Grant to do a sculpture head of Dr. Grant for the Rockefeller Foundation.

 He exhibited with the Gros Gallery in Key West, Fl,  at Biosco Gallery  in Madrid Spain, at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, Philadelphia, and at Gallery West Indies, Charleston, S. C. He also exhibited and worked in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and painted and exhibited in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

 He had a two man show in Key West, Florida at Lucky Street Gallery. In the 1990’s he exhibited in group shows at the Clayton Gallery in Tampa, Florida. He was elected for an all juried exhibit in the Ninth annual All Florida Spring Exhibition in St Petersburg, Florida.

 He has sold pieces to some of the following collectors:

Jordon Meinster - Biography

Jordon was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1935.  He graduated from Central High School and received scholarships to attend Tyler School of  Fine Arts at Temple University, where he studied with Rafael Sabatini.  He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts there, majoring in sculpture.  He also studied painting, print makng and ceramics.  He did independent study of painting with Hans Hoffman.  In addition, Jordon received a Bachelors of Science in Education.  Jordon taught art at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan.  He received an art scholarship from the University (of Madrid?) to study in Madrid, Spain.  Twice, he was asked to submit paintings for review by the American Academy in Rome, to receive an art scholarship.

Jordon had a one-man show at the University of Puerto Rico and he was also commissioned by Mrs. Grant to do a sculpture head for the Rockefeller Foundation.  He has exhibited his paintings and sculptures in juried and invitational exhibitions in the US, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Spain.  His recent showing in St. Petersburg, FL, included the Morean Arts Center, Art du Monde and Trinity Gallery.  Throughout Florida, he has exhibited in the Clayton Gallery, Tampa, Lucky Street Gallery and Gros Gallery, Key West. 

Jordon has a piece in the permanent colleciton of the South Carolina State Museum and he is exhibited in the Nina Lui Gallery in Charleston, SC.  In Puerto Rico he has exhibited with Galeria Sol 13, and he has pieces in the permanent collection at the University of Puerto Rico.  Jordon designed the theatre set and costumes for the ballet Taste of Honey at the Tapias Theatre.
Jordon also exhibited in Mexico, at the Instituto de Allende and at Galeria Biosca in Spain.
