Jose's Life Long Mission

August 10, 2016

Jose Maria Alentado was born in Cuba in 1952.  When Castro’s government seized his family’s land they fled to Miami, FL.  Once there, he did everything he could to learn English and be an American.  He gained many, many friends throughout grade school and beyond.

Jose Alentado was a veteran of the Tampa and Gainesville Police Departments.  He served for 12 years in SWAT, Patrol, VICE, Narcotics, Tactical Operations and Training.   After concluding his law enforcement career, he instructed at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) where he was an instructor in both the Physical Techniques and Enforcement Techniques Divisions.   He then rose to become the program manager of the Law Enforcement Spanish Training Programs.  He received 9 awards from FLETC for course development and deliveries during his tenure there.  Jose was an instructor of law enforcement Spanish since 1989 throughout the United States.  He is recognized nationally as one of the leading experts on technical Spanish programs.

He then built his own company Partners in Training Consultants.  Partners in Training Consultants has been the most sought after Spanish language training program in the United States for Law Enforcement and other public service agencies.  His methodologies and materials enabled his students to pick up and quickly retain Spanish necessary to carry out their day to day responsibilities in their profession.

He didn’t stop there.  He also traveled the world teaching Tactical Commanders Courses in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Manilla, Tunisia, Mali and others. Because of all of his travels he always had a great story and was extremely open to learning new cultures.

He enjoyed his Starbucks, IPAs, friends and family.
