Joseph "Blue" Ambrose  "For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:6-7. On Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, Joseph "Blue" Ambrose rejoiced as he entered into his heavenly home of rest with relatives and other believers in Christ. Brother Ambrose loved the Lord and every opportunity presented he would testify of the Lord's mercy and grace that strengthen him through all things. He will be truly missed and for the many that knew him we had an opportunity to witness Christianity of love, faith, unselfishness, and honesty. Throughout his toils with this life course of uncertainties he kept the faith in God and never wavered in his belief or divine purposes for mankind. Joseph "Blue" Ambrose was born on April 27, 1953, to John Ambrose Sr. and the late Virginia Wilson in Lakeland. He accepted the Lord into his life at an early age. Brother Ambrose's spiritual growth was under the leadership of Pastor Tommy Linton, Love Outreach Fellowship and later from pastors of Bethany World Prayer Center. He was a loving and supported husband, father, son, brother and best friends to many. He enjoyed his self-employed landscape and janitorial businesses and found much joy serving his customers who meant a lot to him. Whenever "Blue" found time, he loved playing dominos and watching his favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Vivian Johnson Ambrose; baby girl, Ashley; two sons, Nathan and Kyle Landry; stepdaughter, Jerica; five stepgrandchildren; father, John Ambrose Sr.; five sisters, Olivia James, Theresa Simmons and husband Lionel, Shirley Arnold and husband Walter, Joyce and husband Roy Lee, and Virginia Rose Frederick and husband James; two brothers, John Jr. and Johnny Ambrose; mother-in-law, Rosie Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Johnson Williams and husband Bobby, and Patricia Hamler and husband Larry; brother-in-law, Chris Johnson and wife Tammie; two godchildren, Patsy and Brandon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, sister, other relatives and friends.
