Joseph ( Joey ) A Firak, age 49.

Passed on December 20th 2018 in Denver, Colorado.

He was born in Chicago, IL to Sharon L and Jospeh E Firak on December 3rd 1969. He is survived by his wife Sheri Firak older brother Paul Firak, younger sisters JoAnn Hudson and Lisa Burkholder. Nieces and nephews Ashley, Tristen, Marlee, Aubrey, Natalee and Ilyanna . He was preceded by Dakota Harris ( nephew ) and parents Sharon and Joseph Firak.

Joey was an amazingly talented carpenter, he loved music and played the guitar with passion. He had an extreme love for animals and a very unique way of communicating with them. Joey was also a man of the Bible who spread the word of the gospel to many. He was involved in the homeless community in Atlanta GA and Denver CO. Throughout this journey he helped many, his focus being battered women and war vets. He could fix or build anything, and his hands were his tools. Joey was a clever individual who loved to pick on his sisters, nieces and nephews. As he would say “he was a savage at heart”. He was the man of the family and very protective of those he loved. To say he will be missed is an understatement. We lost a part of our sibling clan and it will never be the same. Rest In Peace brother, fly high our guardian angel.

Shortly after meeting Joe in 2012 I was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. During my initial treatment I had nowhere to live. Without hesitation Joe asked if he could help...actually insisted. He rented a motel room and went to Wal-Mart and bought an air mattress. I had to undergo 35 radiation and chemo treatments over a 2 month period. Joe made sacrifices to ensure I had someone who cared. I had a little money yet not once did Joe ask for anything. He ran errands, fed me, kept me company and basically saved my life. I wouldn't have survived the treatment without Joe. He left this world way too soon. I am proud to have have met such an Angel. He'll be surely missed by all the lives he touched in Atlanta. Rest in peace, friend.
