I can always remember being on holiday in Skegness with Mum and Dad and my baby brother Nigel.
We had walked along the promenade and down to the beach where there were some people with donkeys offering rides for the children.
I obviously wanted to ride on one of these donkeys and got really excited at the prospect, after all i was only about 5 years old.
I remember the man putting me on the donkey along with a few other children, and eventually we started moving along the beach.
Dad had gone up onto the top of the promenade to take some cine film of me on the donkey.
A man came walking up the beach towards us with a dog that was off the lead, and it ran towards the donkeys, which spooked my donkey and it started running at full speed, with me hanging on for dear life.
It was running straight towards the 6 foot high, stone promenade wall.
The next minute my dad ran and flung his self off the promenade wall and snatched me off the back off the out of control donkey.
Saved my life that day as i am convinced i would have been killed if i had hit that wall.
