Joseph Cavaliere Sr, 80, former Ferrell resident, died May 24 th , 2017 at his home in Monroeville, NJ.

Mr. Cavaliere was born on July 15 th , 1936 at his parents’ home in Philadelphia, PA to Donato and Angelina Cavaliere. Mr. Cavaliere served in the United States Army in Korea. In 1960, Mr. Cavaliere came home and married the love of his life, Maureen Elizabeth Burke. Together they raised their family of 4 in Philadelphia until they moved in 1973 to where they resided in Ferrell NJ for the next 43 years. He was a local Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT at the Ferrell Fire House for many years. He worked for the Local Union #8 Carpenter’s Union until he retired in 1991.
Woodworking and carving were a favorite pastime of his, along with Fishing at Lake Gilman and Down the Shore. He was known as the “Patriarch” as family get togethers and celebrations were always of utmost importance to him. He instilled Family values and lead by example to his children with a steadfast moral compass and a sense of humor that was woven throughout every interaction and every relationship.
Mr. Cavaliere is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maureen Elizabeth Cavaliere, Daughters, Angel Dove, Susan Reilley, Maureen Dotson and son, Joseph Cavaliere, Jr., Grandchildren, Jennifer Dybus, Gary Watkins, Donna Dove, Shannon Shankland, Steven Shankland, Michelle Reilley, Amanda Stancil, Andrew Dotson, Great Grandchildren, Tyler Dybus, Jordyn Stancil, Wyatt Stancil and sibling, Carmella Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donato and Angelina Cavaliere, his siblings, John Cavaliere, Mary Gomez, Danny Cavaliere & Rose Howe, Tony & Rita Picciano.
Relatives close to Joe’s heart: Best Friend Tony Picciano. Others include Allie Morgan, Larry Picciano, Corrine, Roseann & Michael Perlman, Loretta & Mark Newsom and Anthony & Sara Picciano, Carol & Ed Dietz.
