On February 2, 1921, God gave the world and one person who wasn't even a twinkle in any eye the best gift ever, He create you Dad. Although born at home you shone like a beacon, proud, honest and true. Your strength and courage, compassion and love are a miracle that people can only hope to have even just a fraction of. Your kindness and understanding are a quality that Heroes are made of. Although I only had you in my life for 25 years, I keep you safely locked in my heart forever. There isn't one day that I don't think of you. I Love You my Dearest Friend.

Escaping The "Cleaning Lady"

August 20, 2015

I remember the time we were set to have company and as always mom got the "Cleaning Bug". Mind you mom's house was always immaculate. You could eat off the floors. But for some reason she never thought it was clean enough for compeny. She had this nack for making the cleaning experience a nightmare and by the time we were done, we didn't want the company. But I digress. We were expecting mom's sister and brother in law for the wwekend. Dad wakes me at 5 in the morning and said, "You want to go fishing" ? I being half asleep said, "Dad it's 5:00" . all he said was, "Yes and Aunt Rose and Uncle Lou are coming for the weekend. You do know what that means right? Let me refresh your memory. Aunt Dee Dee and Uncle MIke". As soon as he said that I remembered and was up and dressed in a flash and we quietly snuck out of the house. When we got back all mom, said was that it was better that we were not home. She said we only got in her way last time. You and I laughed about that every time we went fishing after that.
