February 5, 2014

Joe was born Friday, April 28, 1961 in Chicago, son of Harold and Lucille (Reiter) Loes. He graduated from Bloom Trail High School as a member of the National Honor Society in 1979. On February 26, 2011 he was united in marriage to Rev. Brenda Monroe of Clayton GA.

Prior to his residence in West Point, GA., Joe lived in Crete, IL where he played tennis, dabbled in photography and was quite gifted as a graphic artist. A devout Roman Catholic, he led a life of service feeding the hungry and advocating for the poor. Joe was an animal lover whose compassion knew no bounds. Remaining Catholic he embraced his wife’s Episcopal faith and the people of St. John’s. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his kind heart and generous spirit. Joe was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend.

Joe is survived by his wife, the Rev. Brenda Monroe Loes, his brother Eric (Alexis) Loes of Daphne, AL, his sister Anne Loes of Homewood, IL and his nephews Eric Loes, Ryan (Marianne) Loes and his great nephews, Michael, Brian and Dylan Loes.
